About the event

Talented young artists and lecturers at the Krakow Music Academy. In addition, the space of the Auditorium Hall of ICE Kraków, with the repertoire of, among others, Chopin, Schubert, Szymanowski, Rachmaninow and Prokofiew. "Playing Classics" is a new series of concerts, which was created in cooperation with the Academy of Music in Krakow and the Krakow Festival Office. All its editions will be available online - on Facebook KBF.

- Thanks to this cooperation, the Internet space will soon change with all the colors of music that will surround us with virtuosos associated with the Academy of Music in Krakow. In the Auditorium Hall Krzysztof Penderecki, the ICE Kraków Congress Center will host artists who will lead us into the most beautiful world of sounds, where music becomes the highest value of beauty. So let's listen to its sound, and with delight, we will find an enchanted world available only to those who are really looking for it - invites the rector of the Academy of Music in Krakow, prof. Stanisław Krawczyński.

- Almost 200 artists and bands have already played on our stage - says Izabela Helbin, director of the Krakow Festival Office, operator of ICE Krakow and organizer of classical music concerts. - Our mission, however, is also to promote local artists, virtuosos and personalities, so our cooperation with the Academy of Music will bring only benefits: musicians related to Krakow will be seen by a wide audience, and the events will be available online for a long time. The educational value of this project is also important to us - we cooperate with one of the best units of this type in Poland.

In the Auditorium Hall Krzysztof Penderecki has performed by renowned artists around the world - so far we have hosted here excellent singers: Edita Gruberova, Diana Damrau, Elīna Garanča, Philippe Jaroussky, master instrumentalists: Anne-Sophie Mutter, Isabelle Faust, Ivo Pogorelicia and Piotr Anderszewski, and a great composer Max Richter. Among the outstanding conductors there are, among others Kent Nagano led by the Orchester symphonique de Montréal, Sir Simon Rattle with the London Symphony Orchestra and Philippe Herreweghe with the Orchester des Champs-Elysées.
